Description

The Extang Trifecta quickly became Extang's top selling tonneau cover. It arrives fully assembled; it will take longer to take out of the box than it will to mount to your truck. The Trifecta is a tri-folding tonneau cover, the tailgate and middle panel will fold forward and secure to the cab panel. The rear panel is held in place with two spring-loaded clamps. The cab panel is held in place with two hand-tightened screw-style clamps. The Extang Trifecta mounts to the top of the truck's side rails. The tarp is permanently attached to the frame; no stretching is required to attach it to the tarp, so it is easy to operate at any temperature.

Operation

Take the Extang Trifecta out of the box, and set it on the top of the truck's bed rails. Unfold the cover and square it up to the truck. Fold it back up. There are two hand-screw clamps under the front section; Swing these down and under the side rail and tighten them. Unfold the cover. There are two spring-load clamps under the tailgate section. Swing these down and under the side rail. Close the tailgate. Drive away.

To open the cover: open the tailgate and release the spring-loaded clamps. Fold the tailgate and middle sections on top of the front section, and snap the retaining straps in place. Close the tailgate and drive away.

Description

The Extang Solid Fold was created when customers requested a secure version of the Extang Trifecta. It is essentially the same cover with hard panels instead of a tarp.

Extang BlackMax Weaknesses

Description

The Extang Black Max tonneau cover is one of Extang's most popular tonneau covers. It is their only snap on cover that allows the tarp to be completely removed from the frame. Because the tarp is removable, the frame, corner pieces, and snaps are all black so that you have a clean looking frame when the tarp is removed.

Operation

Unsnap the Black Max tarp from the tailgate and the side rails. Roll the tarp to the front of the truck, and hold it in place with the straps. Or you can unsnap the cover from the cab rail and set it to the side. Remove the tail rail assembly and the support bows, and set them to the side.

To cover the truck, replace the bows in the middle and snap the tail rail assembly into the side rails. If the tarp was removed, then snap it to the cab rail. Unroll the tarp to the tail rail, and snap it to the tailrail. Then snap the tarp to the side rails.

The Extang Classic Platinum is a top mounted tonneau cover. The tarp rolls up to the cab rail for complete access to the bed of the truck. The snaps are stainless steel, and the corner pieces are metal.

Operation

Unsnap the Extang Classic Platinum tarp from the tailgate and the side rails. Roll the tarp to the front of the truck, and hold it in place with the straps. Remove the tail rail assembly and the support bows, and set them to the side.

Description

The Extang Tuff Tonno III is a top mounted tonneau cover. The tarp rolls up to the cab rail for complete access to the bed of the truck. The tarp attaches to the frame with tongue-and-groove closure, much like a large Zip-Lock bag. Because the seal is continuous, it is stronger than the point attachments of a snap-on cover. The seal is hidden under the cover, providing a cleaner look than a snap-on style of cover.

TruckCandy has been selling this cover since its introduction, and we have put more of this cover on our friend's and family's trucks than any other tonneau cover.

Operation

To roll up the Extang Tuff Tonno III, you open the tailgate and release the retaining clips. You then roll the tail raill assembly up inside the tarp to the front of the truck. There are straps at the front of the truck to hold the roll in place. Then you remove the bows and set them to the side.

To close the cover, replace the bows in the middle. Then unsnap the straps at the front and unroll the cover to the tailgate. The tail rail assembly fits into the retaining clips, and rotates into place. As the tail rail rotates, it will automatically tension the tarp the length of the truck. Then rub your hands down the sides to engage the Zip-Lock style seals.

The Extang Express is an inside-mount tonneau cover. Inside-mount covers provide a cleaner look than top-mounted covers. The tarp attaches to the frame with industrial strength Velcro closures. Because the seal is continuous, it is stronger than the point attachments of a snap-on cover. The seal is hidden under the cover, providing a cleaner look than a snap-on style of cover. The tail rail assembly and the support bows roll up inside the cover to the front of the bed, providing complete access to the bed of the truck. A quick-release lever at the cab rail attachment allows you to quickly remove the tarp and bows from the truck.

The Extang Revolution is a completely flat, inside-mount tonneau cover. Inside-mount covers provide a cleaner look than top-mounted covers. Each bow individually tensions the tarp left-to-right and front-to-back. There are no snaps, tongue-and-groove seals, or Velcro seals. The bows are held in place by attachments along the side rails. The continous seal along the bottom of the tarp prevents water from getting under the cover.

The Extang Revolution is a giant leap forward in ease of operation in a tonneau cover. And the completely flat cover provides an extremely clean look.

Description

To open the Extang Revolution, open the tailgate, and release the tail rail retaining clips. Roll the tarp to the front with the tail rail and bows inside it. Secure it in place with the retaining straps.

To close the Extang Revolution, release the retaining straps, and unroll the cover. The bows will drop into their retaining clips as you unroll the cover. Position the tail rail assembly in the tailgate retaining clip, and rotate into place. Drive away.

The Extang Full Tilt is a canvas, lid-style tonneau cover. It opens and closes just like a fiberglass cover, but it only weighs 30 lbs and can be easily removed by one person. The Extang Full Tilt is a modification of the Extang Classic Platinum, with reinforced corners, a pivoting cab rail, and gas shocks.

Operation

For tilt operation: open the tailgate, rotate the retaining handles out from under the truck side rails, and lift. The gas shocks will pop the cover up and hold it at a 30° angle.

To close the Extang Full Tilt, open the tailgate. Reach up and grab the cover and pull it closed. Rotate the retaining handles under the truck side rails. Close the tailgate and drive away.

To take the cover off: Lift the cover. Then unhook the gas shocks: They are connected with ball joints, they just pop off. Lift the cover to about 60° when the upper cab rail will release from the lower cab rail. Then set the upper frame assembly and tarp to the side.

If you unexpectedly buy a refrigerator, you can still get it home with the Extang Full Tilt. Unsnap the tarp, roll it to the front , and secure it with the straps. Slide the bows off of the frame retaining clips and set them to the side. You can now lower the frame over the refrigerator and take it home.

Extang Toolbox Tonno Weaknesses

• Difficult to operate below 40°
• The support bows must be removed when the tarp is rolled up.
• The cover butts up against the face of the toolbox. It will require approximately 1" of height above the surface of the cab rail. Make sure that if the toolbox lid handles are on the face of the toolbox that the tonno will not cover the handles. Lay a 2x4 across the truck bed rails, and butt it against the toolbox. If the 2x4 does not intefere with the lid, then the Extang Toolbox Tonno will work. If it does interfere, then the minimum limit is1".
