Napier Sportz Truck Tent III Strengths

  • Truck tents are above the ground. Ground based critters are no longer a problem.
  • Finding a spot for the tent is as easy as finding a level spot to park. No need to worry about rocks, tree roots, or any other debris on the ground.
  • The truck tent stays clean after a rain.
  • The awning provides shade for chairs during the day, and keeps the dew off of the ground outside the tent at night.
  • You can drive (keep it below normal wind speeds) with the tent up.

Napier Sportz Truck Tent III Weaknesses

  • As with any tent, it is much easier to assemble with two people than with one.
  • You cannot drive on the highway with the tent up.
  • The tent is the size of the truck bed. Two sleeping bags comfortably fit side by side. A child can sleep crosswise. Anything more is a crowd.
  • Truck tents cannot be used on the ground.

Description

Camp safe and dry in the comfort of your truck bed inside a Napier Sportz Truck Tent III. This is Napier's third generation of truck tents, and every generation provides more room, increased quality, and more features.

The Napier truck tents have side walls and a floor, keeping you fully enclosed (and the bugs out). The truck tents use the truck bed as the lower structure of the tent, the poles provide the structure above the side walls. The top of the tent drapes to the outside of the truck bed, so any rain that falls on the truck tent will drain outside of the bed. The awning can be rolled up and stowed against the truck tent, or it can be deployed for a shade and shelter off the back of your truck.

Operation

  • Spread the truck tent in the bed of the truck
  • The ends of the poles will slip into nylon pockets
  • Two long poles go corner-to-corner
  • One short pole goes left -to-right
  • Bridge the tent up and slip the ends of the long poles into their pockets. The hard part is done.
  • Center the tent, with the tent material and the nylon pockets to the outside of the truck so that any rain will shed properly.
  • Insert the doorway pole.
  • Insert the front-to-back pole on the inside of the tent. This is much easier if you bow the pole to the side, insert the ends into the pockets, and then rotate the pole into position overhead.
  • Secure the straps to the tailgate and to the bottom of the fender wells to keep the truck tent secure in the case of high wind gusts.
  • Extend the awning (or not).
  • Insert a TruckBedz Airmattress and a sleeping bag
  • Sleep safe, dry, and comfortable in your truck tent.
Reverse the process to take down the tent. Roll the truck tent up inside the bed of the truck. There is no need for a truck tent to ever touch the ground, so you can immediately store the truck tent when you get home without having to set it up again to clean it.
